Let's talk about sex, baby!

Yeah yeah! So for the month of April, we're launching a new series at Fusion. And we're talking about sex. That's right! And we're not going to sugarcoat things either! We're going to jump in head first and talk about what's true, what's not, and how we can see this whole sex thing through God's eyes. Everyone else is talking about sex, so we might as well too! Who knows...we may even have an appearance by Salt-N-Pepa.

The series will be April 19th and 26th at 6pm. We'll also have a chance to dialogue further in our Access groups and give you guys a chance to talk back about what you see, what you're scared of, and what you think about sex. I'm sure there will be some memorable moments!

So tell your friends, invite any 6th-12th grade student that you want! Just don't miss it!

Rock Band Series

So for the month of March, we did a series at Fusion called Rock Band. We setup the X-box 360, let the students rock out the drums, and had some incredible artists come in and share their hearts and music with our students. During this series, we saw more students walk through the doors each week than we've seen since we started last August!

Some of the highlights for me:
-Joining Brandon Porter, Dan, Nate, and Jason in the bathroom for some eyeliner application in anticipation of RED! Nate made it look way too easy!

-Randy from RED sharing his story of salvation and how he and the guys have represented Christ well while on tour with mainstream secular bands.

-Hearing the girlish screams when Joel and Luke sang a couple of songs. Man, they're good-looking blokes!

-Watching Joel, Luke and Robdul dominate the students in "Are You Smarter than a Rockstar?" (watching them name off N'Sync song titles with wreckless abandon was impressive)

-Joel encouraging the students that God is there and willing to show up in their lives if they just ask Him.

-The boys from Stellar Kart getting some help from John Hill during the rockstar game. That propelled them to the win against some capable students.

-Putting on the purple short shorts and running free through the Target parking lot in our Stellar Kart video! My wife was not so proud.

-Courtney, Dan and the rest of the band guys who did a fantastic job playing each week and engaging the students.

-Cody from Stellar Kart talking about the lack of identity that he sees in the youth culture today. He encouraged the students that our identity can only be found in Jesus alone!

-The last night we did an Ultimate Rockstar night. It was great watching our students trying to guess who the ultimate rockstar was. Guesses include Elvis, Toby Mac, Skillet, Michael Jackson, and others. We finally landed correctly on Jesus. Great finish to the series!
